Things that change the price

These are conditions in the building or the fixture itself, and they are the only things that change a price after you have booked. We publish them so none of it is decided on your doorstep.

  1. 1

No wiring point where you want the fixture

If there is no ceiling rose or back box at the spot, a cable has to be run to it first.

  2. 2

A fixture over roughly 5 kg

Heavy fixtures need a structural fixing into the joist and a second pair of hands to hold them while it goes in.

  3. 3

A new group in the meterkast

If the existing circuit cannot carry the load, the fuse box needs a new group. That is a separate work.

  4. 4

    New or modified ducting

A cooker hood with no existing duct, or a duct that does not line up with the new unit.

If your job hits one of these, you get a fixed price for the difference before anything starts. You can say no.

How it works

How a booking works

  1. 01

Pick your jobs and a slot

Add what you need. The total updates as you go, and the visit is only counted once.

  2. 02

The form opens WhatsApp with your jobs, your slot and your total already written out. Add a photo of the spot.

  3. 03

    We confirm within 24 hours

The photo is how we check for the conditions listed above. If one of them is there, you hear about it now.

  4. 04

    Done, tested, paid afterwards

Everything is tested with you before we leave. You pay by iDEAL or card, and the invoice follows.

Our story

Pluggable started with two invoices for one job.

Enoch booked an electrician job through a local platform. The price he prepaid from the platform isn’t the final invoice.

After the job was finished, a second bill arrived — this time from the electrician directly, for labour that had never been quoted. He wasn't doing anything unusual. The arrangement simply doesn't require anyone to agree a price with you: the platform takes the booking, the electrician does the work, and the number gets settled somewhere in between, after the fact.

None of it was illegal. All of it was a surprise. If you have moved here from somewhere else, you know the particular helplessness of it: you cannot tell whether you are being overcharged or whether this is simply how it works here.

So we decided to handle it ourselves for you.

The Pluggable way

Mark is a qualified electrician and does every job himself — wiring, sockets, shelves and flat-pack alike. You will get a final price with us ‘up front’. We make sure the job is well communicated and done correctly with the agreed price.
